Spirit and history of the event :

A SecondLifeCamp aka SLCamp is an ad-hoc gathering, an unconference, born from the desire of people to share and learn about the latest innovations in terms of 3D virtual environment, mainly focusing on SecondLife, technologies, communication and marketing in an open environment.

SecondLife is the cutting edge 3D metaverse, composed of more than 9,8 millions of inhabitants, whose economy should generate a GDP of 1 billion US dollars for 2007.

It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction between attendees.

The name SLCamp is a playful allusion to BarCamps origins, with reference to the hacker slang term “Foo Bar“.

The BarCamp movement arose as a spin-off from Foo Camp, an annual invitation-only unconference hosted by open source publishing leader, Tim O'Reilly.

The event doesn't cost any money, but there is a price: all attendees must give a demo, a session, or help with one. It works on the principle : "No spectators, only actors!"

Anyone with something to contribute, with the desire to learn or with a need to express is welcome and invited to join.

When you come, be prepared to share with SLCampers. When you leave, be prepared to share it with the world.

• 2PM : The SLCampers introduce themselves, their company, their projects, talks about their demo and what they would like to hear about

• 2:30PM : SLCampers decide and write the SLCamp Schedule on the dashboard

• 2:45PM : SLCamp starts, demos, presentations, projects, ideas, discussions, needs, etc...

• 5PM : Questions and answers session

• 5:45PM : Conclusions and next meeting

• 6PM : The Party begins ! It will happen in a place kept secret for now
