Why?

MobileCampBoston will be the place where area developers, companies, marketers and pundits will meet, discuss, and share ideas on all things mobile.

What you should bring to Camp?

  • Willingness to participate: you don't have to lead a meeting, but you shouldn't be a wall flower either - get involved
  • Positive attitude: You're going to hear a lot of different ideas - come with an open mind and ears
  • Demos: got something cool you're working on (Android Project, new Mobile Web site)? Bring it along and share it
  • Business cards: you'll be doing a lot of networking
  • Digital camera: Pictures help explain what went on at the meeting

Sessions

MobileCampBoston is an un-conference. Unlike a conventional conference where discussions and panels are arranged beforehand, MobileCampBoston lets everyone decide what will be discussed that day. You can expect to see discussions around:

  • Mobile User Interface
  • Location based solutions
  • Mobile web design
  • SMS integration with your web application

... and so much more.

Tips for Sessions

Minimize Powerpoint: Camp is about discussions and sharing ideas, not to be bored to tears. It's OK to have a few slides if you need to explain something complex, but no one wants to sit through your 20 slides - leave that for the traditional conferences. We'll have overhead capability in some of the rooms, but why not just write a few notes on the backboard and encourage discussion. wino kredyt mieszkaniowy sprzedam mieszkanie sprzedam bilet

Minimize Product Pitches: A lot of us attending work on mobile products and services, and we want to tell everyone about what we're doing and maybe to get them to try stuff out. But, don't expect campers to sit through your standard sales pitch. It's better to tell people about what you learned while developing and delivering your product/service.

If anyone has an idea for a session that they'd like to share before Camp, please feel free to list it here:

  • Nagging Question Forum: example: anyone know how to make my Nokia E62 behave with Gmail Java App?
  • Tracking - what will be the best way to track and report on mobile traffic? Will it be time on site, pageviews, sessions? What tools can we employ?

Demos

Got something you want to share before Camp starts, list it here:

  • Padpaw : Try out Padpaw, a group organizing service for cell phones. Just text "join fop" to 74865

  • LBStrategy : If your organization or company is looking for guidance regarding location-based advertising or application monetisation (or if you just want to learn more about the "so how do we make $?" question that came up on Sat), take a look at this site. Maybe I can help!

Sponsors

We're proud to announce that Mobivox will be sponsoring morning coffee. Make sure you thank Nitzan Shaer when you meet him.
